Product Details

An elegant, weightless daily shield for your skin, it performs beautifully under make-up, and won’t clog pores. It offers powerful protection against harmful UVA and UVB rays with 11.8% Zinc Oxide and 7% Octinoxate.

It’s fortified with 5% Niacinamide, so it brightens and boosts skin whilst helping keep pores clear and skin calm. Think of it as a serum in a sunscreen – it even makes your skin more tolerant of retinoids.

Suitable for all skin-types, including blemish-prone skin. Layers beautifully with Flawless Moisturiser.

Dr Sam Says:

“Did you know that regularly wearing sunscreen can actually allow your skin to repair itself? So you’re not just maintaining the status quo – by wearing sunscreen on a daily basis, you’re actually improving the first signs of premature ageing. (That’s before you even get around to applying eye cream or a serum.)” [1]

What makes it flawless?

Non-greasy, primer-like finish

Won’t clog pores + helps keep them clear

Broad-spectrum, SPF50

how to use

This is the bit we want to make incredibly easy for you. We know sunscreen can be confusing. So watch our video that explains how to make it work for your morning routine without pilling or ruining your make-up. And see how to make sure you get the full level of protection this product can deliver.

Sunscreen is a bit like medicine. There’s actually a specific dose that’s required to deliver the SPF number on the bottle. We spell this out for you so that you’re in no doubt – because it's really hard to know what “apply generously” actually means, right?

Protecting your face is easy.
  1. Apply after cleansing, serums and moisturiser but before make-up.
  2. Use the for an even layer that absorbs into your face (not your hands!) – to achieve SPF50, you need to use 3 pumps for your face and 3 pumps for your neck. (Believe me, your neck will love you for this).
  3. Stroke it evenly to cover the area, and allow to dry down onto skin for a flawless, primer-like finish.

Wait for Flawless Sunscreen to fully absorb before moving on to apply make-up (shouldn’t take long!).

To thick, doesn’t absorb

I really wanted to love this but it just doesn’t work for me, even a third of the recommended dose doesn’t sink into my skin, in the summer if my face got a bit sweaty it would literally leak out of my skin, tried saving it for the colder months, same problems of it rains, face goes all creamy and white. I’ve got combination skin so thought I’d be ok with it but really not for me.

The sunscreen I was looking for

Finally found the sunscreen I was looking for! No white cast, gives a beautiful glow to the skin but not too shiny/sweaty looking. No nasty chemicals or perfume. I totally recommend it.

Good Spf

Overall this is a lovely sunscreen but I found it quite occlusive so mainly use it over the winter months.

Silky smooth

So I have a thing about finding ‘The One’. I have tried a few SPF’s including Gossamer and other mineral only creams. They don’t work for me. I find it too hard to blend and I can see ‘residue’ sitting on my skin.

So I thought I’d try Dr Sam’s a daily as it’s a hybrid SPF. It feels really silky and is rich and nourishing, yet, I still have trouble with a bit of pilling around my hairline and sometimes around my eyes. I just find that I’m taking too long rubbing it in and dealing with some pilling in places. I don’t know why. Plus, I use 3 pumps at first to cover face and neck, and just that amount alone takes a while to work in. Then I’ll go back a while after and do 3 more pumps. It just feels like it’s quite a lot effort.

I can’t help but keep going back to my La Roche Anthelios fluid. It’s so easy and trustworthy. I put the whole 2.5 mls (same as the 6 pumps and generic amount as highlighted by Dr Sam for accurate SPF protection) on my face and neck at once and it’s not long before I’ve blended it all in and it’s like silk across my face. No residue or pilling. It’s so quick, easy and reliable.

I love Nightly and Brightly and tell everyone who will listen to me to get them. But with the SPF’s, they’re just not quite working for me.
